On the php.net lists there's an 'unsubscribe' link at the bottom of each post.

e.g.:
PHP Internals - PHP Runtime Development Mailing List
To unsubscribe, visit: http://www.php.net/unsub.php

It might not be a bad idea to offer something similar to that page. This is a very high-volume list, and people will want to leave it on a fairly regular basis if they aren't directly involved.
