Right now Zend_Pdf is primarily designed to write/modify PDF's, its not
really meant to read data from them.
The Zend_Pdf team is split up something like this
Alexander == Writing/Reading/Architecture for all things PDF Format
Willie == All things font/string/binary/[layout]
Me == All things image data.
Hope that helps...
Alex might have some ideas on this, but afaik theres no way to do what
you're after.

this might be a stupid question but you seem to be the 'guy to ask' ;-)
Is there a way, preferably using Zend_Pdf, to get the 'string' data out
of a created pdf? By that I mean the strings that are painted into the
pdf - i.e. the text content (not meta data). I'm interested in this
because an app I work on dynamically produces pdfs and I'd like to be
able to unit test the saved pdf by reading it in and checking it has the
correct content (e.g. it has the string "Invoice" in it).

The purpose of these 'works' was to create Zend_Pdf image handling

probably shouldnt forge ahead down the path of writing wrappers for pecl

or so time. If he's not completed the upgrades by then, I'll take the
project back *nudge*

you'd like a copy of the patch, one can be made available to you.
