MySQL itself does not support named parameters in queries, so the
adapter would have to simulate it and translate it into positional
parameters.  

If this is a desired feature, let's add a feature request to JIRA.  The
issue will be worked on in an appropriate priority order and hopefully
we'll support it later.

I have to comment that there are many tasks for Zend_Db that are higher
priority, so this feature is not likely to be looked at in ZF 1.0.
