I am thinking that a Zend_Auth adapter would be rather simple to
implement once the Zend_Jabber component has been introduced. Though the
proposal does not address Zend_Auth specifically, I suspect that a
second, small proposal based on the Zend_Jabber component for a
Zend_Auth adapter would be easily moved forward once we have some
momentum behind this proposed component.

We are still looking for comments on this proposal; I would encourage
anyone interested in using Jabber with Zend Framework to review the
proposal for us and provide feedback. Of particular interest would be
comments for how you would expect to use the component (use cases help
drive the API design).
