From the debian website we can read that :
"No new functionality is added to the stable release. Once a Debian
version is released and tagged `stable' it will only get security updates."

I remember gentoo never supplied a 5.2.0 ebuild, only a 5.1.6 and a
5.2.1, perhaps there were too many issues with making 5.2.0 a
production build? I am not sure.

It looks like they have 5.2.3 in testing, I wonder when it will become
stable / production.
