Dan, That sounds very reasonable. With PHP you get freedom and flexibility. In my experience few people take .NET seriously in web development. I bet it's a great platform and a good choice if you're a large enterprise already using this technology and only looking to add web interface to the existing system. But it seems the web is moving too fast for Microsoft to react and web community is very sensitive to open software and standards. It should also easier for you to recruit more talented and passionate developers if you move to the light side :)
