I replied earlier saying you can read the docbook XML docs in the
repository. There's also another place you can read about Zend_Layout:
Rob Allen has already posted a nice mini-tutorial on it on his blog:

While it doesn't go into the full Zend_Layout functionality, it gives
you more than enough to get you started.
