I think one concern is that it requires the pcntl PHP extension which does not work on windows systems.
This component may need to move to the Extras library. It would be great to develop it further along with a nice daemon component. We could model it after: http://nanoweb.si.kz/ http://nanoserv.si.kz/ I have been playing with nanoserv and it works great.
