I think you should try "inclued". It makes a http://talks.php.net/show/drupal08/14 graph of the include hierarchy so it can help you somehow. You can find it here: http://pecl.php.net/package/inclued http://pecl.php.net/package/inclued I never used it personally so I cannot help you more than this :p
