Because some people who are subscribed to the list use it. It's a service where you need to complete a captcha so the person using the service receives your email. I've done it a few times, but I think it's a huge no-no when you post to a mailinglist to ask a question and then not only want people to answer it but also expect them to complete a captcha to get the answer back to you.
