I see the docs for zane_cache show Zend_Cache_Backend_ZendServer_Disk
and Zend_Cache_Backend_ZendServer_ShMem as backend options but I do
not see this in the current 1.7.8 release. Can somebody explain what
version of the framework the docs refer to? Also, it appears that the
reference guide and the api docs refer to different versions because
the api docs do not reference the zend server cache backends.
No, it is visa-versa...
The manual referrs to the lastest release which is always the next upcoming
within trunk, actually the upcoming 1.8.
We know about the problems which arise with this, and we are already working
on solving them.
But it will keep some time.
Regarding the API doc, I believe that they are build automatically from time
to time, but as they are actually not part of the manual I can't say for
sure.
I would suggest that the docs should prominently state which version
of the framework they refer to and there should be a link to docs
covering the current version. Or better yet,
http://framework.zend.com/manual/en/ and
http://framework.zend.com/apidoc/core/ should always refer to the
current version and links should point to docs for future and previous
versions.
That's exactly what we want to cover with our new proposal.
