Are you having the same issue that I am?
My hosting provider is a shared provider and to get anything above
5.2.0 is not possible without upgrading to a much higher pricing tier.
I too remember that it used to able a minimum of 5.1.6 to run the
framework and then suddenly found out that had changed. But only one
line inn the docs said you had to have 5.2.4.
My hosting service runs Debian 4.0 and since the service is a VPS
(Plesk based Virtual Private Server) server it may be a while before
Debain 5 is supported depending on how long it takes the (Virtual
Private server) to upgrade their support.
My other sites are on a Redhat shared server that is offering a
limited version of 5.2.0. I don't own the hardware and since its a
shared service I cannot upgrade the PHP version.
Not everyone has $100-$400/month to have a dedicated server at a
hosting provider to install the latest and to buy a copy of zend
server to serve sites. It would be useful to have something in the
documentation that states the minimum requirements to each module so
that those of us who don't have the money for the latest and greatest
can still work with what they have.
