Just a thought, and it doesn't really solve the problem the way you are asking (so take it for what it's worth), but since you're not getting much other feedback I thought I'd offer it. As I understand it, the purpose of a radio button in a UI is to make sure that the person selects exactly one response, so there should ALWAYS be one option selected by default. Andrew
