I don't know why it's switched, but it doesn't seem that bad to configure
the providers in a INI file.  You can also include them using something
like:

zf enable config.manifest class-name

See zf enable config.? for more details.

I don't know why it's cutting off the first letters.  Have you dug around in
the code at all?
