I know Adam Lundrigan wrote a blog post about using \Zend\Di in zf1: http://adam.lundrigan.ca/2011/06/using-zenddi-in-zf<http://adam.lundrigan.ca/2011/06/using-zenddi-in-zf1/>. He also created a git repo with this as an example: https://github.com/adamlundrigan/zf-examples/tree/master/zf2-di-in-zf1 So yes, it's possible to integrate. I've seen the tweets and blog posts about this, but can't find those anymore.
