not so sure about this, but I see the following related to * https://github.com/zendframework/zf2/pull/4495 * https://github.com/zendframework/zf2/issues/4493 Should the DateTimeFormatter, when passed a string from which an instance of DateTime could be created, return a DateTime? I would find it quite useful, to be honest, for the same reasons why I believe the NumberFormat filter should return a float when a parseable string was passed to it.
