LOL. I just noticed this message (a year after the fact). How funny. That
was just me building
some personal packages using OBS (Open Build Service) to make it easier to
manage fwknop-c clients
across my machines (a few home servers and some laptops). This was strictly
for personal use, and
the price for getting to use the OBS service freely was to do so publicly.
This by no means implies
an official OpenSUSE effort, as I'm sure folks have figured out by now. The
fwknop server packages
in particular need some work. As in: they build but since I don't use them
locally they have not
been tested - at all. The client, however, has been working fine. fwknop-c is
ready for
prime-time, I'd say.

Now that fwknop is on git, it should be easier to track fwknop development to
produce current
snapshot packages. The old way - manually downloading archive files of the
latest SVN snapshots
from the Trac web interface - was quite painful. Now it should be easy to pull
the git sources in
via build scripts, making automatic packaging much more feasible. As fwknop
2.0 nears release
(whenever that might be), it might be worth using OBS to easily produce
"official" fwknop packages
for a variety of platforms. As of todays wiki page
(http://en.opensuse.org/Portal:Build_Service),
this includes: 21 base distributions on 6 architectures.

Food for thought. Just sayin'.

All of the data generated in your IT infrastructure is seriously valuable.
Why? It contains a definitive record of application performance, security
threats, fraudulent activity, and more. Splunk takes this data and makes
sense of it. IT sense. And common sense.
