Hi everyone, It's time for the April meeting of the Fort Wayne LUG and this time it's the Distro Smackdown. Several members have volunteered to test various (unfamiliar to them) Linux distributions and will be reporting on the results.
Is SuSe Linux any good? Why would I use Slackware? Can a distro called "Puppy Linux" actually work? For the answer to these and other questions, come out for the Distro Smackdown, where several members report on different distributions that they've tried. If you're new to Linux or just trying to decide on new distro to try, this is the meeting for you - you'll get a good overview of some of the options available and what the pluses and minuses of them are. As usual the meeting will be in the Canterbury High School computer lab, 3210 Smith road, at 7:30, Thursday, April 17. Again as usual, full details, directions, etc are on the LUG wiki at http://fortwaynelug.org/moin.cgi/Meeting_2049 I hope to see you there. Vern -- This time for sure! -Bullwinkle J.
