Hi All... My name is Aaron...I'm mostly just a lurker on this group and a general linux beginner. I have a few computers running Suse that I toy around with, but nothing serious. Anyway I've been asked to look at a self-contained imaging solution for a PC running XP using open source software.
I came across the PING (http://ping.windowsdream.com/ping.html) iso which does the imaging function I want in the way I want. What I need assistance with is getting the contents of the isolinux bootable CD copied to the physical drive so that I can use the existing MBR and windows boot.ini to reference it from the drive as another boot option...rather than having to use the CD. I don't have a real aversion to using grub as the boot loader if that vastly simplifies things, but I would prefer leave the boot loader as is if possible. I have the utilities necessary to resize/format/etc. the partitions if needed. I just don't have enough experience with linux to know how complicated, if at all, this task is. I attempted a few things based on a few google hits, but so far no joy. Any advice/resources would be appreciated. -A
