Lug, Just an update on my video card / mythTV problems. They are basically solved. Since I had the system down because of the video card, I decided to upgrade to 9.04 (I was running 8.04). After the upgrade (no problems), I used envyNG to fix the nvidia driver issues (now running driver 180.45, I believe). The tearing was still there, though. Next step, install support for VDPAU using this:
http://www.avenard.org/media/Home.html which is a backport of VDPAU-support to mythbuntu 9.04 (and all other mythtv 0.21 releases). After setting the playback profile appropriately, the tearing was gone and my CPU use was *very* low (around 10% or less). NICE. I'm working on the zoom problem, which is easier to address in 9.04 than it was in 8.04 using the gui screen size settings. Cheers, Christer _______________________________________________ Fwlug mailing list [email protected] http://fortwaynelug.org/mailman/listinfo/fwlug_fortwaynelug.org
