Im using 10.10 on three machines only one has given me an issue. Its a custom built Asus x58 with a i7 920 and a Geforce GTX280 I have heard a lot of people on the ubuntu forums having Trouble with the Asus x58 boards. I had to downgrade my kernel and all is well. So I'm kinda stuck waiting for a fix. I would tell you to burn a 10.10 cd and run it live to make sure your hardware is supported. Its usually pretty obvious when it isn't.
