I think it would be great to have multiple groups meeting at multiple times and locations. Ideally, there would be one at every grade school, high school and college in the area, with some degree of coordination under a local umbrella group -- but unfortunately that's probably too idealistic right now. It is also unfortunate that, given my Tuesday-Thursday evening class, it seems unlikely I will be unable to attend either of the meetings this semester.
It doesn't really matter who takes over the Wiki, just that it works. At Dreamhost, they proudly reject CPanel, but I could still install MediaWiki.
