John, Seriously? Good catch. I'm used to the machine letting you know that the battery is dead and needs to be replaced, and making you acknowledge the message by hitting Enter, but going ahead and booting anyways with the default BIOS configuration and an incorrect clock time. I don't think it would have ever occured to me to suggest the CMOS battery...
