There was a RFC on this for Perl 6 and JAPHs.  Basically,
these exercise some pretty nasty syntax stuff, and could
be considered as part of the core tests.  Maybe you *can*
play Golf and return your dues to the perl authors at the
same time... lets see if anyone can justify that to their
boss along the lines of:

"I'm not playing golf, just writing complex tests for the
perl core!"

or another excuse entirely:

"You wanted Perl... I'm writing Perl... by the way, did you
even read that Perl is mostly line noise?  Well, the
project you asked for is turning out that way, but it'll be
finished Real Soon Now"
