I think this is sort of equivalent to the rubic cube. where u can scramble the cube within a second, but then try forever to get the solution (unless ofcourse if you know the tricks).
Here you have the numbers and signle dimension only. Puzzle can be extended for multi-dimensions. So: Let's say if we have "1 2 3 4 5 6" Applying couple roations: 1 2 3 4 5 6 =>1 2 6 5 4 3 =>1 4 5 6 2 3 And challange is to get back: 1 2 3 4 5 6 from "1 4 5 6 2 3" with minimum steps.
