I guess I can switch and try an older version of the JDK, but I would
like to know why this error happens and switching JDK is not something you
can do that easy on some systems... If you understand what I mean.

switch to java version 1.4.2_04

I had the same problem, figured it was the java version problem.

       --as

Johan,

I had the same error and with help of Tims message solved it. I copied xalan.jar from the wss4j into an "endorsed" subdirectory of the following directories:
"JAVA_HOME"\lib
"JAVA_HOME"\jre\lib

This solved the problem on the client side. Additionally I copied it into the endosed subdirectoy of my tomcat installation which removed the error on the server side.

It only remains if I start the client from within Eclipse.

Hope this helps
Martin
