I had a 1st generation MBP 15" die on me--just a small amount of water and
the board was gone :(  I would also recommend the apple care program
(something I did not get) and any protective-type things you could get for
it (case cover, keyboard cover, etc.)  The performance on it was great, but
its durability was low.  I spilled a cup of coffee on my Pismo (which I now
use) and, after drying out for a few days, it fired right up.
