Simon, I will check the HD ribbon cable. If it's cut, like mine did,
you'd have to get another. I will suggest also you check, very
carefully, the CPU's attachment to the mainboard. If the original 6GB
from your Lombard does not work, after these checks, I will agree with
Bruce that the main board has some problems. As regards the newer HD,
you may want to format it on a working machine first. Maybe, just
maybe, its format is not being seen by the install disk. Finally, you
may want to take the HD from your Lombard out, and put the newer HD in
there and install. If it works, then you can rule out the HD.
