You don't share drives in OS X, only  volumes, ie: specific DVD or CD  
disks.

You cannot, for example share a DVD drive to burn stuff on it, with  
the possible exception of the Remote Disk sharing software you can use  
with the MacBook Air, and I don't believe Apple's software lets any  
old mac use the shared drive, just the MBA.
