On pre-New World machines, the OS X partition must be in the first 8  
GB (8192 MB).

Wallstreet was the LAST Old World PB.

OS9 can be in the first 128 GB (131,072 MB), however.

So, best to reserve the first 8192 MB for OS X boot functions,  
including OS X itself.

Once booted, applications may be executed from the remainder of the  
131,072 MB.
