Hi

I know I have compiled a list of Mac compatible PCMCIA cards, but a small
point has eluded me.

http://www.simonroyal.co.uk/html/maccards.html

The original Airport card is only 802.11b. Some of the cards that fit in
the PCMCIA slots of PowerBooks and are recognised as Airport cards by the
machine are 802.11g.

So does these technically give you Airport Extreme in a Mac that originally
had Airport. OSX works with both Airport and Airport Extreme.

I ask this as a friend of mine has a PowerBook and a Buffalo AirStation
WLI-CB-G54A which when popped in the side of his Mac shows up as Airport.
This is technically a G card, but will the Mac pick it up as a G card or
only work as a B card.

Sorry for the rather messy message but I know what I am trying to ask but
my brain isn't moving it to my fingers.

Simon
