Simon,
The MDD has a special version of 9.2.2 that has specific drivers for the
hardware (a special mac rom file among other things) this is because the
MDD came out AFTER 9.2.2 and the retail versions don't have the required
drivers (as far as I know this is the only OS9 bootable Mac that cannot
use the retail 9.x installer) if you have just copied the 9.2.2 system
from your Pismo then it will probably work OK as a Classic folder but
not if you try to boot from it, one way round this is to use a HDD on
the second IDE bus (the 66MHZ one) as the primary 100MHZ bus is the one
that requires a new driver, that would boot OK but not see any drives on
the primary bus.
The best thing is to install 9.2.2 from the original MDD disks then
manually copy over what you need (Apple has an updated restore utility
letting you use the disks in 10.4 as the one on the CD only works up to
10.3x)
I cannot find the link to the updated restore utility on Apple's support
site, but if you have the original CD's then I think I have a copy of
the utility I could e-mail you.
Ben.
