Hello friends, I just picked up a pismo "parts machine" for cheap - after about 3 months of failing to get my lacie usb card to recognize anything other than a keyboard or mouse on my wallstreet, I have decided to focus on a new project.
The pismo has a good screen and motherboard, (so I am told) but the DC board has broken loose and the case has been destroyed. After purchasing an anti static mat, and examining the disassembly guide at http://homepage.mac.com/sysop/PhotoAlbum7.html , I feel confident taking everything apart in order to solder the power board back in place. However, once that is complete, I need to transplant the pismo guts, keyboard, and screen into my wallstreet case. Has anyone attempted this before? I already anticipate hacking the case to make way for the usb/firewire ports, and I will do whatever it takes to get the rest to fit, within reason. Mostly I am concerned about the possibility of a difference in the display mounting hardware between the two cases, or perhaps a similar obstacle for the optical drive? Any advice would be appreciated.
