Hello! I have a 500 Mhz iBook G3 with 320 MB RAM, 10 GB HDD, and
10.4.11 Tiger. I also have an 8 GB iPod 3rd generation. I have a
couple questions about using both:

• Can I use a firewire adapter to plug the USB iPod into the iBook
(high speed)?

• Using a firewire adapter, can I boot and run the computer from an
old iPod that I might pick up? The internal hard drive is small and
loud and I don't want to replace it.

• If I was able to run the iBook from an old iPod (like 20 GB and up)
is there a way to disable the internal hard drive from spinning
without opening up the machine? Is it possible to cut power to the
internal HD without unplugging the cable?

Thank you very much if you can answer some of these!
