I doubt the 256 extra would make a lot of difference. You'd probably get better results from choosing your apps more carefully - such as the G4 optimized version of Firefox (Bon echo?) and other apps with a smaller memory footprint. Oh, and avoid coverflow in Finder. That will bring my works dual G5 to it's knees.
