I just got a brand new Linksys WPC54G Wireless G notebook adaper for
my PCMCIA bus card slot for my G3 Prismo Firewire 500 mhz power
book,it shows as a airport, probably because it uses the same
chipset,so i enter a 128 bit wep encryption key,it gives off the
following error"There was an error joining the airport network"blah
blah blah" then it has 2 options,"try again or ok" i hit retry again
several times to no evail,i changed the setting to several
configurations,nope....nuttin....notta...zip...zilch -_-

now as i read about airport within mac os x help docs,it keep
mentioning a airport base station,i'm guessing that these chipsets
that run in macs, only work with a airport wireless base station access
point and not on a linksys wireless router (which is the one i am
trying to connect too at work) or a netgear wireless router(which is
my wireless router i have home?

I know the wep key is correct because i'm on the AP in question right
now with my dell laptop,so could somone be as so kind to explain to me
what is going on? I am new to macs,i have this G3 500mhz powerbook and
2 power mac G4 450 mhz as starter machines,i am getting the hand of
this mac stuff slowly but surely.

Thank you much friends ^_^
