Please show me the complete output from this command, in Terminal:

   dig acme.com

Pull both Inquisitor and SafariBlock; see if that makes a difference.
See if things are faster if you pull the Flash plug-in too.

Do you have any other InputManagers -- LCC Scroll Enhancer,
especially? If so, pull those too.

Not a paging problem then, at least in your particular case. I was
semi-suspecting this for the OP, since his machines are very memory
poor.

FWIW, I'm using both Safari 3.2.1 and WebKit on my 300-MHz Smurf (OS
X 10.4.11). I've seen such lags, but nothing as severe as you'all
describe.

SafariBlock, in particular, is problematic. Wonderful InputManager,
but... The latest looses settings. And the latest automatic block
list contains some entries that seem to bog things waaaaay down.
I've found that using an older release, on Manual, works much better.
Takes a bit of work to train it, but it's worth it.

Next there's Flash. sigh. Apple snuck a new release into the recent
Security Update... This new version, 9.0.151.0, seems stable, but is
definately slower than the prior release 9.0.124.0 (at least on my
Smurf). Pulling Flash temporarily will tell you if that's part of
your situation.
