Normally this answer is no.

You can use a utility like Data Rescue II to recover deleted files, or  
fragments of deleted files. It's very time consuming and uses a lot of  
HD space. There's a demo mode for getting single files at a time, but  
if you need to recover more than one or two files you'll probably need  
to buy it and get a license:
