Hello to all !... the resolution to this connectivity issue came from my
smart sil...
I had had the Lombard repaired for another daughter but she opted to buy a
G4 powerbook to use with her newer iPod. So I never really used the PB
after the repair. In my own defense I can say that I am not so ditzy that I
installed a 10.3.9 compatible card and did not know it. : )
Still here is his reply to me and thanks to all...

"Thanks for all the help. Yesterday I went into system preferences and
noticed that the wireless card was in there...not from my installation. So
you guys must have had it installed before. All I did was change the
settings to recognize the LAN here and it works no problem. So it works
fine. It is extremely slow, but I think RAM would fix it. I'll keep my eyes
out for some cheap RAM."

best to all this year!
Kristina
