My wife's pismo stopped powering up. I found, after many cycles of
disassembly/reassembly, that If I press on the connector for the Pram battery
it will start up. While I was working on it, however, I installed the HD from
the Pismo into my G4 sawtooth to back up the data. Now if I reinstall the HD
into the pismo I can't get it to boot. It turns on but the screen is white, or
is that grey? Even if I try to boot from a CD all I get is the white screen
and the mouse pointer arrow. If I remove the HD I can get it to boot with an OS
9 install disk. I've checked the HD connections more than once. Could I have
done something to the HD while it was in the G4 desktop? And what is it about
the Pram Battery connector that needs to be pressed down in order to boot up?
I wish I had a spare HD to test. I will try to find one.
Other avenues to follow? thanks
-Dean
