I've been running a Transcend IDE solid state drive in my Pismo for a few months now with good results. New Egg described it as a "Transcend TS32GSSD25-M-J 2.5" 32GB IDE Internal Solid state disk (SSD)" Cost $75 shipped. I think this is the "M" type SSD which is supposed to be slower that the "S" (?) type Haven't run any benchmarks but seems as quick as the Samsung 5400 rpm drive it replaced. It's only got to keep up with a G3 after all.... Actually the SSD is in a drive bay expansion module in my desktop Pismo which is connected through a KVM switch to a 20" monitor, keyboard, two trackballs, tablet, card reader, printer... When I want to go somewhere I pop the SSD into my travel Pismo (better display and hinges, Airport card, better battery). Now I just need to get set up with some backup/imaging software so i can clone the SSD to the respective internal hard drives.
