One option you could use if you have it available to you is to install Tiger onto the drive via Firewire from another computer. I have done this a few times using an external hard drive case with a firewire connection. Simply pop the Lombard hard drive into the external case, and install it onto that drive using another Mac. Take the drive out when finished, put it in the Lombard, and enjoy Tiger without the need to use Xpostfacto. I realize not everyone has this at their disposal, but it works great if you have access to these items.
