I doubt very much whether you could do as you suggest. Physically or hardware wise, seeing as the video chip is hard soldered onto the Logicboard of the Pismo as it is on nearly all the laptops that Apple makes if not all, then I think your chances of upgrading it unless you have access to a PCB grade solder machine is next to impossible. Software wise I also doubt that you could do anything to improve it either in firmware or some other hack. The only other way that I know of involves either a PC card like a VillageTronic VTBook http://www.villagetronic.com/vtbook/index.html which I bought earlier this year off ebay for $25 secondhand ( about $150 new )which is a 32mb video card for the PC slot or a Magma PC card which is a small PCI chassis attached once again via the PC card slot that has one,two or more slots so you can install third party PCI video/sound/FW/USB etc cards hitched up to your Powerbook. http://sewelldirect.com/magmacb1h.asp These are very expensive.
