My favorite AC adapter for the G3 PowerBooks is the original M4402
model, the small/thin rectangular black one whose reputation was
blighted because a few of them melted, prompting an Apple recall, and
official replacement with the bulky, awkward "flying saucer" model
(M7332) that originally came out with the similarly idiosyncratic
"toilet seat" iBook. They do get warm under heavy usage, but I've
never had one malfunction. An eBay search
<http://shop.ebay.com/M4402>
finds a few used Apple units, plus a bunch of third-party
"equivalents" that look more like the somewhat bulkier M4896 adapter
that came with the earlier PowerBook 3400 and 1400 models.

OWC sells some adapters:

As does FastMac:
<http://fastmac.com/poweradapter.php>

Amazon has a bunch of adapters; do a search for "powerbook g3
adapter". Note however that the "G3" in the title of most of them
refers to the *iBook* G3 (Dual-USB model), which uses the same
connector as the G4 iBook and PowerBook, so these won't work with the
G3 PowerBook (which uses the same connector as the original round
iBook).

A lot of adapters are sold on eBay:
<http://shop.ebay.com/powerbook-g3-adapter>
Note that the search is just for "adapter", as some are listed as AC
adapter, some as power adapter.

Note: You can search for anything at eBay -- without first going to
the eBay site to use its search field -- using this URL
http://shop.ebay.com/
adding the search term after the / (like the searches above). If the
term has more than one word, connect them with hyphens (as above).

If the search returns too many items, you can narrow it down by adding
exclusions using the minus sign -. This can't be done in the initial
search URL above, as it cannot include spaces; but once you've done
the search, you can add exclusions in the search field, e.g.
<space><minus>g4, which will exclude all items with G4 in the title.
The search field will then look like this:
powerbook g3 adapter -g4

Note: eBay auction URLs can become extremely long and cumbersome, and
don't transmit well in email. To refer someone to an eBay auction, you
can use this URL, simply adding the item number after the =:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=

For instance, to get to the referenced auction for the Madsonline
adapter:
<http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170377195277>
