Hi, I have been reading this list for a while and this is my first post re:Pismo too hot. I have an iBook G3 2001 that I bought new as my ' dream computer'. Last year it started to require me to push reset button first before start up and it got very, very hot. and the sound was gone. Not just hot on the left side but the whole underneath was really hot. So I panicked bought a used G4 but resold it in two weeks. I could not see the letters on the G4's metal keyboard and the track pad was too small for my thumb. I switched back to my iBook and plugged it in with G4 A/C 65 W adaptor. My G3 improved immediately. I have now sold the G4 and back to using my beautiful iBook. I write children's books, on Appleworks 6 and only do a little research/email online so having the latest OS is not an issue. I bought my iBook its own 65W adaptor, still have to start with reset, but it never overheats, the sound came back and it works flawlessly. This Mac has never crashed or had any problems in 8 years. Perhaps try a higher wattage A/C on your Pismo. Sheila
