I hope you can help me here. I have an iBook G4, 1.33 GHz, 768 MB running OS X 10.4.11.
My email program, Mail 2.1.3, sometimes refuses to receive incoming mail. At the moment the situation is: There is a warning triangle next to the Inbox which, when I double click on it, gives me the error message "Connection failed ... error encountered: Connection to the server "...." on port 0 has timed out". If I click Get Mail I get the usual rotating line but the warning triangle is still there and no mail is received, neither is there an error message. I can send mail without a problem. I have verified the Keychain, it says there is no problem. I have reset all of the Mail preferences to previous values (I had written them down) but I still cannot receive mail. Fortunately I can access my mail through a cumbersome internet email program, so if anyone send help, I can read it!
