Tom,

I don't think it's a key command. According to Apple, if you put a PowerBook to 
sleep and then connect a keyboard and/or mouse, as well as an external monitor, 
the PowerBook's desktop will appear on the external monitor instead of the 
internal monitor when you wake it up. I tried this once on a 15" G4 1.5 GHz 
PowerBook, but it didn't work. The only way I could get a mirror of the desktop 
on an external monitor was to connect a 14" G3 iBook LCD to the PB after 
removing the damaged original. It looked weird, but worked well enough to let 
me sort out the other problems.
