Greetings all, I have a very nice iBook G3 (dual USB, rev. 2) running OS 10.4.11. Just noticed something odd: 1) the keys that control the brightness don't do so, though they do engage/function if I re-assign them through short cuts (to do something else). 2) linked or not (I think it might be), the Displays preferences pane is supposed to have a slider to give you virtual control of brightness, yes (the "Help"utility says so)? Mine does not.
Any reason why this anomaly in the unit's OS? Does the iBook normally have this addition in the Displays preference? For the record, the display does respond to brightness adjustment when one engages color profile calibration. Thanks much, Dana
