This has happened to me so this might work - boot to Mac OS X. Create
a folder and copy the entire OS 9 partition contents there. Use Disk
Utility to delete the OS 9 partition an then split it. Initialize the
new partitions and copy the files back. You might then need to boot
with the OS 9 install disk to make sure the disk has the right drivers
and is blessed.
If you are using Xpostfacto to bootstrap a larger than 8GB drive on
that machine, I suggest not doing this as it will probably leave you
with an unbootanle machine.
