Hi all

I have a 12 inch display for a wallstreet thats not working. The
backlight comes on but nothing else. I checked all the connections
they're all fine could it be the inverter has failed?

If the backlight is working then it's not a problem with the inverter, it is used to power the backlight.

There is a common problem on Wallstreets where the display is working but the backlight isn't but this wouldn't be the case here.

What I always try when a Wallstreet doesn't start up is to disconnect the AC power supply, remove the battery(s), press the power button wait about 10 seconds, reinsert the battery, reconnect the AC power supply then hit the power button again.
